There’s something to be said about the Practice that is carried on by generations…..

Compassion, consistency and caring….. The Buttigheri Foot Care Center was established in Journal Square in 1936, and has served the residents of Jersey City for 73 Years! The Practice (once known as Chiropody) was started by my Grandfather, Angelo Buttigheri and later was joined by my father, Joseph N. Buttigheri in 1961.

I, in turn, followed in my Fathers’ “Footsteps” and in 1988 one (1) year after my sister, joined the Staff at the Foot Care Center. Having been around Podiatry all of my life, my desire to carry on the family practice was clear. Through their focus on simply “making people feel better” and their care and compassion my grandfather and father were well known and loved by their patients, many of whom are my patients today. I always enjoy hearing and sharing stories about my father and grandfather and doing so serves as a reminder of what is most important, giving my patients the care and compassion they deserve.

The one true philosophy that I maintain which was the cornerstone of the business that my grandfather started, my father continued is that Patients Come First…Patients are Your Friends and Neighbors. Coincidentally many of my patients are relatives that stemmed from my grandfather’s generation. Many of my neighbors are patients as well, having grown up in this neighborhood that I make my home in today. Serving the residents of Jersey City is something that is in my blood and close to my heart.
